On Saturday, January 20, 2018, the Connecticut Daylily Society welcomes guest speaker Nick Chase. Nick’s presentation will highlight the 2017 American Hemerocallis Society’s National Meeting in Norfolk VA. Whether you attended or not, you’re certain to relish Nick’s recap of the fabulous botanical and tour gardens he visited. Additionally, Nick will feature gardens from the 2016 AHS Regional in Nashua, NH. You may even recognize a few Connecticut open gardens in Nick’s photos! Craving blooms and sunshine in the middle of January? The CT Daylily Society is here to help you scratch that itch!
Our social hour with delicious and popular “Soup’s On!” potluck lunch begins at noon. Soups, stews, chowders, and various sides will warm us up before Nick’s presentation at 1 pm, which is sure to be chicken soup for the gardener’s soul! Of course, there will be fabulous daylily door prizes, and attendance is always free of charge. Why not invite your gardening friends for a restorative afternoon after the hustle and bustle of the holidays has passed?
The Avon Senior Center is located at 635 West Avon Road in Avon, CT at the junction of Sycamore and Scoville Roads (at the Sycamore Hills Recreation Center).
