The Connecticut Daylily Society invites you to our picnic on Sunday August 2, at John O’Brien’s: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZVoLHqeh5dtJ6Hx18?g_st=ic O’Brien Nurserymen LLC beautiful sales garden at 40 Wells Rd in North Granby.
We plan on starting with greetings from John at 10 am, then a quick business meeting by Rebecca Nisley, our president, including a treasurer’s report. Other agenda will include reporting on Open Gardens and the Region 4 summer meeting.
Food-BYOL-(lunch), such as a sandwich however, the club will provide various side dishes such as salads and baked beans. IF YOU CAN PROVIDE A SALAD let Rebecca know. Suggest no mayo or dairy dressing because of the heat. John will provide water to drink. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR. We will have bowls and forks.
Directions: go to the big intersection in Granby of Rts 20 and 10. Bear left onto 20 West, but take the immediate right turn toward North Granby just past the cemetery. Follow until you get to 40 Wells Road, bear right. John wants us to park down the gravel driveway at the bottom of the hill, not up top (unless you have a handicapped parking pass). We will mark the entrance to the driveway. Rebecca’s son, Chris will be there to help with carrying food, etc. Call Rebecca if there are any problems at 860-306-6315.
John has a great selection of late daylilies for purchase, as well as his famous selection of hostas and conifers. Bring your checkbooks or cash, he doesn’t do plastic.
