On March 18th the Connecticut Daylily Society will host speaker David Jewell of Ontario, Canada. His presentation, “The Secret Life of a Daylily Superhero”, is sure to be an absolute blast! Because David selects plants with an eye for beauty and hardiness, daylilies from his zone 4 garden should thrive here in Connecticut. David’s 2017 introductions, with names like ‘Speedo Wardrobe Malfunction’ and ‘Warped Reality’, are guaranteed to elicit a smile, especially since the flowers are just as exciting as their monikers.

We’ll have an auction for a number of Mr. Jewell’s introductions after the program, with half the proceeds benefiting CDS’s educational outreach, so don’t forget your cash or checkbook!
As always, we’ll reward fabulous daylily door prizes and attendance is free of charge. CDS invites anyone with a passion for plants to come see what’s new and exciting in modern daylilies! If you’re only familiar with the old oranges and commonplace yellows, you’ll be entranced by the current variety of hemerocallis—we guarantee it!
