Mark your calendars! On Saturday, January 21, 2017 the Connecticut Daylily Society welcomes guest speaker Claudia Conway of Running Fox Farm in Canterbury, NH. Claudia and her husband Dave strive to create daylilies that combine southern beauty with northern hardiness. From the moment the couple acquired their property in 2007 and planted their first daylilies, they were smitten. Claudia vowed to learn all she could about America’s favorite perennial, and the following year she plunged headfirst into hybridizing. The rest, as they say, is history.
Why not start the New Year with a burst of much-needed color? Join us at the Avon Senior Center at noon for our Soup’s On potluck lunch featuring chilies, chowders, and stews to ward off that January bite. Claudia’s program, Our First Ten Years at Running Fox Farm, will begin at 1 p.m. after a brief business meeting, and is sure to have us all longing for sunny days and dirty fingernails!
The Connecticut Daylily Society invites all interested persons to attend this free event– seasoned gardeners and newbies alike. We award fabulous door prizes at every meeting, so stop in and see what we’re all about!
The Avon Senior Center is located at the Sycamore Hills Recreation Center, 635 West Avon Road (Rt. 167) at the junction of Sycamore and Scoville Roads. Check out www.dayliliesatrunningfoxfarm.com to preview Claudia’s lovely creations.
With flowers, fellowship, food, and fun, the Connecticut Daylily Society welcomes everyone! Hope to see you at noon on January 21st at the Avon Senior Center!
