9/17/16 CDS Welcomes Karol Emmerich

On Saturday, September 17, 2016 the Connecticut Daylily Society welcomes Karol Emmerich of Springwood Gardens, Jordan, MN. Our social half-hour with delicious potluck lunch runs from noon to 12:30, followed directly by Karol’s program. “Life Lessons from the Daylily Garden” is a topic any gardener can relate to, and slides of Karol’s vibrant daylilies are sure to have us planning for next spring!

Karol breeds for daylilies with clear colors and interesting patterns. She’s well known in daylily circles for her lush purples with intricate or chalky eyes, lavish edges, and inspirational names. Her cutting-edge hybridizing program focuses on producing plants that thrive in Northern gardens and are both distinctive and beautiful. Without a doubt, she’s achieving those goals.

As always, there will be fabulous daylily door prizes and attendance is free of charge; the Connecticut Daylily Society welcomes anyone with a passion for plants! Additionally, we’ll have an auction for numerous Emmerich 2014-2016 introductions following the program, with all proceeds benefiting CDS, so don’t forget your checkbook!
