On Saturday, November 7th, 2015, the Connecticut Daylily Society will host their featured guest speaker for the 2015-2016 growing year. Daylily hybridizer Michael Miller of Small World Gardens will give his presentation at 1 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center following a noon social hour. Michael’s Virginia sales garden boasts extensive plantings including over a thousand of the newest daylily varieties, as well as hosta, ornamental grasses, sedum, spring bulbs, and other wonderful companion plants.
Michael is a prolific hybridizer, with introductions for 2015 totaling twenty-six cultivars. His hybridizing goals run the gamut and include large, ruffled, and round daylilies, edged and eyed blooms, as well as miniatures, spiders, and unusual forms. Small World Gardens has something for every gardener’s taste!
