2021 REGION 4 ANNUAL MEETING
Save the Date! Saturday July 17, 2021
Due to the continuing uncertainties of Covid-19, including new, more aggressive variants, the lack of assurances of Covid-19 vaccine availability for everyone before the end of summer, and the State of Connecticut reopening mandates, the Connecticut Daylily Society has determined that conducting the 2021 Region 4 Summer Meeting as previously planned is not possible.
Therefore, CDS has elected to downsize the Regional Meeting this summer, and planning is currently progressing. We are assembling a single day event with open gardens which attendees can visit on their own. There will be a Region 4 business meeting at the rendezvous location to elect our new Regional President. Awards will be presented. There will also be a Garden Judge Workshop 2 that will serve as a Refresher Workshop for garden judges in need of extending their judgeships. Conducting both the regional business meeting and the garden judge workshop are in keeping with AHS policy and procedure.
Additionally, we are planning a bareroot daylily sale, which will likely be a preorder/prepay/come-pick-up sale to ensure safety and social distancing. This pickup location will likely be a different garden than the central rendezvous garden. Lunches will be bring-your-own and take your trash home, please. Masks will be required regardless of your vaccination status. Anyone wishing to stay over should find their own lodging, although we suggest the DoubleTree in Windsor Locks, CT, as they were originally our host hotel. There will not be a registration fee, so you’ll have funds to order daylilies! We are only starting to explore this new planning. Stay tuned!
Thank you!
